SIR RICHARD OWEN

It has been suggested by some authors that the portrayal of Owen as a vindictive and treacherous man may be somewhat undeserved.

Despite a terrible rash, Ellie was a perfectly beautiful eight-pound baby with a "squeaky-clean" medical record. But her mental health quickly deteriorated after she arrived home.

The child's biological mother was an addict, but the worst of her vices -- crack cocaine, PCP, heroin and methamphetamine -- were nothing compared to the alcohol that had ravaged Ellie's developing brain in the first trimester of pregnancy.

How sad, I thought that such information had to be disclosed to prospective adoptive parents, but I guess not.

It's suppose to be disclosed, but perhaps it's differently for each state. Regardless, that never should have been kept from the parents to be.

Keeping that kid might have resulted in last rites for the parents.

they had the kid for seven years. I cant imagine giving back any kid of mine no matter how many probs they had after even a day let alone seven years. youd have to have a heart of stone.

of course theyre going to say the kid is a terror.. they have to justify what theyre doing rite so they dont look like total monsters. they care more about their biological kids than the adopted kid thats the bottom line

at least for the kids sake she found a new home with people willing to be her parents. she got lucky. most kids that age dont get readopted.
